Buckwheat was eaten by gladiators. it has excellent nutrient density.

I hope that is true. healing the GI irritation is easy tho, (if the diagnosis is "irritable bowel" -- called "disharmony of the digestive system" in TCM) ginseng stomach pills, with meals for 2 weeks, avoid pesticide foods. experiment with bitters, or digestive enzymes OR Comfrey herbal tea, (i mix it with peppermint tea) daily is very safe. as a maintenance and as needed. (it keeps the lining well repaired).

I have yet to find a really satisfying magnesium, myself, the glycinate included. my sense with myself is, it is not well absorbed. even with food. I read one study where , in the very best conditions about 200 milligrams is taken in. a lump of magnesium is, after all, a rock of mineral. i would trust how you body feels though, over anything. we are all different. and each of us will respond differently to a single form. Indeed if glycinate works well for you i am glad to hear it.
